Mass Effect Andromeda Won’t Have A Season Pass

That's actually very encouraging news.

Mass Effect Andromeda will ultimately get post launch DLC – after all, Bioware have actually always been good about supporting their games with good post launch single player expansions; more importantly, the game does have a multiplayer mode that could be endlessly supported with DLC – but it doesn’t sound like Bioware have any plans to discuss that yet, implying that they may be busier working on getting the game finished for now.

Speaking on Twitter, Bioware’s Aaron Flynn confirmed that there will be no Season Pass for Mass Effect Andromeda– heartening news because it ensures that the team has not yet even begun working on the DLC (which is why they can’t outline their plans for it already), and that they will work on it as additional content well after the game is out. He did later go on to say that Bioware will discuss the DLC at a later date.

Of course, this news is potentially a bit worrying, as well- in the past, Bioware have been known for exploitative DLC distribution practices, especially for Mass Effect 3– who is to say that the only reason they won’t have a traditional Season Pass with Andromeda is not because they will engage in similar practises this time around, too?

Hopefully, it’s the former instead of the latter. Mass Effect Andromeda will release on March 21 on Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
