Battlefield 5’s beta has already given us a fair idea of what kinds of visual customization options we can expect from the game’s PC version, and now, thanks to it, we also know roughly about what to expect from the game’s performance on the PS4 Pro and Xbox One X when it launches in full.

Digital Foundry recently analyzed the beta running on both the enhanced consoles, and what the found, especially on the Xbox One X, was pretty impressive. Both systems make use of dynamic resolution scaling. On Microsoft’s system, Battlefield 5’s beta targets a pixel count of 2160p, but usually falls in the 1836p-1944p bracket. Meanwhile, on the PS4 Pro, the results are far less impressive, with its resolutions of 1296p falling well below its target of 1800p.

In terms of frame rate, both the Xbox One X and PS4 Pro roughly fall in the 50-60 frames per second area, but both versions of the beta are currently suffering from very noticeable performance issues. On the Xbox One X, the frame rate can drop to 45 FPS, while on the PS4 Pro it can drop to 40 FPS.

Of course, it should be kept in mind that this is a beta, so these rough edges are to be expected. That is, after all, what a beta is for, and DICE are obviously taking note of these issues and will hopefully make sure to iron them out. They probably have a solid idea for how the game should perform in its final state. For instance, the demo they showed off at Gamescom boasted some pretty impressive numbers.

Battlefield 5 launches on November 20 for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
