Capcom’s Monster Hunter World has some plans for its next event, which arrives in January 2019. During yesterday’s special developer update, producer Ryozo Tsujimoto announced the Appreciation Fest for next month to celebrate the game’s first year anniversary. Along with a special anniversary quest, the Gathering Hub will be heavily decorated for the occasion.
Players will also have both new and old quests to take part in. New gear can also be earned, but Capcom has yet to provide more information on the same. You can expect new emotes, a new Palico-themed outfit for the Handler, and much more to arrive as well. Additional cosmetics will cost extra though.
This month sees the end of the Winter Star Fest and the arrival of Arch-Tempered Kulve Taroth, who introduces new Rainbow-tier items. Arch-Tempered Nergigante will debut in Spring 2019, and Capcom also announced a surprising collaboration quest with The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt (featuring Geralt himself, among other things). Finally, in Autumn 2019, Monster Hunter World will receive a large paid expansion with Iceborne ,which adds a new map, new gear, new monsters, and a new quest rank.
