Techland has released its 26 minute gameplay demo of Dying Light 2, showcasing how a player can affect change in the story. It sees the protagonist Aiden on a mission to find the Colonel of the Renegades to provide the city with drinking water. Check it out below.

The set-up is pretty dire – Aiden’s friend Frank is shot after trying to speak to the Colonel’s emissaries. As a result, Aiden goes to the Castle to speak to the man, gaining access through a transport driver and secret code. Players can then traipse through the Castle though being stealthy makes a big difference. Eventually you’ll reach the Colonel and learn that not everything is as it seems.

Based on the choices made, different factions can take over the city, new regions can open up and new Infected threats may emerge. Even the parkour, movement and combat look a lot more fluid than the previous game. Dying Light 2 is out in Spring 2020 for Xbox One, PS4 and PC (with a cross-gen release planned) but it’s already looking to be a significant leap forward. Stay tuned for more details in the coming months.
