Capcom and Resident Evil insider AestheticGamer (aka Dusk Golem) has been pretty active with teases on Twitter recently. After recently claiming that Capcom would be releasing a new Resident Evil game within a year of the upcoming Resident Evil 3’s launch (which will allegedly be neither Resident Evil 8nor a Code: Veronica remake), the insider has dropped some more interesting details about what we can expect to see from Capcom over the coming year.

As per AestheticGamer, Capcom’s planning on releasing a handful of “big hitters” in the coming fiscal year – which runs from April 2020 to March 2021 – which they’re hoping will bring in “big earnings” for them. They allegedly have a total of five games planned for the 12 month period. One of these is supposed to be a smaller, medium-sized title (which one would assume might be something like Mega Man or Ace Attorney).

The remaining four, however, are all going to be “big titles”, including two Resident Evil games. One of these is the upcoming Resident Evil remake, of course, while the other is the new aforementioned as-of-yet unannounced game. What the other two are is anyone’s best guess.

There’s been talk of Street Fighter 6 releasing as early as 2021, and it’s been a long enough time since Street Fighter 5 came out, so that’s definitely a possibility. Meanwhile, Capcom have also made it clear that they want to keep investing in remakes and franchise revivals. There were also rumblings of a Dragon’s Dogma 2 last year, while many have been hoping since the Onimusha remaster that that series could make a comeback. Rumour has it that Capcom will be unveiling a new game soon, so we might find out soon enough.

As always, take this with a grain of salt for now, seeing as this doesn’t come from official Capcom channels, though it must be said that AestheticGamer has had a pretty solid track record with Capcom-related news in the past, especially when it comes to Resident Evil. He does say that we’ll be hearing more about this from Capcom themselves in their upcoming quarterly financial report, so we’ll know for sure soon enough. Stay tuned for all those updates.
