Even a game as incredible as Elden Ring isn’t perfect, but though FromSoftware’s open world epic has launched with some technical issues, the Japanese developer has been working behind-the-scenes since its recent launch to iron those out. Patches have been pushed out to address performance problems, connectivity issues, and more across all platforms, and now other patch has been pushed out for the game’s PC version.

The patch notes, interestingly, are very brief- they focus entirely on one thing. Update 1.02.3 has been released to target one issue only, with the patch notes reading, “Fixed a problem in which controllers connected to the PC were not recognized under certain circumstances.” A sizeable portion of the game’s already-massive PC payer base will, of course, be playing the game on the platform with a controller as opposed to a keyboard and mouse setup, so this should come as a relief.

Elden Ring has, to little surprise, gotten off to a stellar start where sales are concerned. On top of dominating UK physical sales charts last week, it also saw the biggest launch for a non-FIFA or Call of Duty game in the region since 2018’s Red Dead Redemption 2. Meanwhile, in Japan, the game debuted on top of weekly sales charts with over 278,000 units sold over a three-day period.

Elden Ring is available for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, and PC. You can read our review of the game through here.
