As Square Enix works on improving Babylon’s Fall and addressing issues with Stranger of Paradise Final Fantasy Origin, it’s seen a good measure of success with Triangle Strategy. Developed by Artdink and led by Tomoya Asano of Bravely Default fame, its worldwide shipments and downloads are nearly 800,000. The tactical RPG launched on March 4th for Nintendo Switch.
Furthermore, the official Twitter notes (translation via DeepL) that over 200,000 shipments and downloads are from Japan and other regions in Asia. By comparison, Bravely Default 2 sold nearly one million copies within its first six months on the Nintendo Switch. Octopath Traveler shipped one million units worldwide in its first three weeks.
Currently exclusive to the Switch, Triangle Strategy tells the story of three countries – Glenbrook, Aesfrost, and Hyzante. Previously involved in the Saltiron War, they now share an uneasy peace…until one day, Aesfrost invades Glenbrook. As Serenoa of House Wolffort, the player must navigate their way through the conflict, making tough decisions and fighting pitched turn-based battles. A free demo is currently available which allows for transferring progress to the full game.
