When The King of Fighters 15 launched earlier this year, it boasted a launch roster of 39 playable characters, but developer SNK had already confirmed before release that that roster would be expanding significantly. With a free DLC character in Omega Ruble and four more DLC drops coming with three new characters each, the fighter would be at 52 characters in total by the end of 2022 (though SNK remains open to reviewing requests for additional characters once that is done).

Of that planned content, Team Garou and Team South Town have launched, which, along with the aforementioned Omega Ruble, brings the game’s post-launch count up to seven so far. In August, another three characters will be added that SNK has now unveiled. Team Awakened Orochi will arrive in a few weeks’ time, bringing Orochi Yashiro, Orochi Shermie, and Orochi Chris to the roster. The announcement trailer doesn’t show any gameplay for them, but their character renders are shown off. Check it out below.

Meanwhile, SNK has also confirmed that arcade classic The King of Fighters 98 Ultimate Match Final Edition is also available now on PS4, with support for rollback netcode, so those looking to go back to the franchise’s older days will want to give it a look.

The King of Fighters 15 is available on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
