Cygames and Granblue Fantasy delays are nothing new, as those waiting for Granblue Fantasy: Relink can attest. It’s perhaps unsurprising that the online open beta for Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising on PS4 and PS5 is delayed past May.
However, creative director Tetsuya Fukuhara revealed that the game is “currently experiencing stability issues during online play.” Though players will no doubt expect “some bumpiness” during the beta, the developer still wants to “put our best foot forward and ensure we deliver as enjoyable an experience as possible.”
Fukuhara said a new date for the beta would be revealed “as soon as things have settled.” There will be a closed pre-access beta to test the rollback netcode, followed by an open beta. Registrations open as soon as the updated schedule is announced, so stay tuned for more details.
Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising is out this year for PS4, PS5 and PC. As a sequel to the 2020 fighter, it features the same roster (including DLC characters) and some new additions, like Anila and Siegfried. There are also new mechanics like Triple Attack and Dash Attack.
An Update on the Online Beta
The GBVSR online beta has been delayed from its previously scheduled May 2023 release.
We realize our community must be as disappointed as we are and offer our sincerest apologies.
An updated schedule will be posted as soon as possible.#GBVS #GBVSR pic.twitter.com/BwkVnBR3xr— GBVS/Granblue Fantasy Versus (@gbvs_official) April 24, 2023
