Square Enix has released a new video for Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, this time around offering us a recap on the events of Final Fantasy 7 Remake leading up to the upcoming sequel. The video, which you can check out below, can also be watched through the main menu of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth when the game comes to PS5 on February 29.

The video features narration from Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth character Red XIII, who was also present in the final act of Final Fantasy 7 Remake. Interestingly, the video has been made entirely in the game’s engine, rather than featuring pre-rendered footage.

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is slated to be an open-world RPG. The game will feature what has been described as a seamless map and a one-to-one recreation of the original game. Director Naoki Hamaguchi recently revealed in an interview that the game will take cues from the studio’s experience with working on Final Fantasy 15, as well as other open-world games, including the Horizon games, as well as The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.
