While there has been quite a bit of speculation with regards to the Red Dead Redemption franchise thanks to a tease by voice actor Rob Wiethoff during a recent live stream, yet another tease from one of the game’s other voice actors, Roger Clark, has set the rumour mill abuzz.
Responding to a social media post asking about Red Dead news, Clark, who voiced Arthur Morgan in Red Dead Redemption 2, simply responded with a gif of a dog being coy along with the word “Yes”. As caught by VGC, Charlie’s voice actor – Roshir Dalal – has also posted similarly cryptic gifs, possibly indicating that the upcoming announcement might involve most of the cast from Red Dead Redemption 2.
Whiethoff, who voiced John Marston in Red Dead Redemption 2, had teased news regarding the franchise earlier this week, saying that something will be announced “definitely before Friday” of this week. However, Whiethoff has also been quite coy with this teases, refusing to elaborate further.
While there has been no confirmation about what this news could be so far, rumours indicate that it could be anything from a current-gen upgrade for Red Dead Redemption 2 to a Nintendo Switch 2 port, bringing the critically-acclaimed title to even wider audiences. These rumoured versions are expected to come out some time between late Summer and early Fall.
Since its original PS4 and Xbox One release back in 2018 and PC release in 2019, Red Dead Redemption has proven to be incredibly successful for developer Rockstar Games. Alongside getting praised by critics from all over the world, the game has also sold more than 74 million copies as of May this year. This has ultimately pushed the cumulative sales for the entire Red Dead franchise up to over 100 million copies.
