The Grand Theft Auto 6 Extended Look on Netflix featured several songs that helped to set the mood for the various gameplay sections, story scenes, and missions that played out over the course of the video. As caught by IGN, the 26-minute showcase featured several tracks across a wide variety of genres that range from modern hip hop to classic rock artists like Def Leppard.

Along with these licensed tracks, which will likely play throughout the game in the various vehicles’ radio stations, there were also plenty of moments where an original score was playing. This score was largely driven by the use of synthesizers during moments of stress, such as when a drug deal early in the video goes horribly wrong, or when Lucia has to shake off a swarm of cops while driving through Vice City’s back alleys.

The Grand Theft Auto franchise is well known for how it uses music, with just about every game since GTA 3 being praised for its radio stations. The titles have also often added to their respective atmospheres by making use of era-appropriate tracks. Judging by the music used in the Extended Look, it looks like the upcoming title will be quite close to home for many.

Grand Theft Auto 6 is coming to PS5 and Xbox Series X/S on November 19th.
