Monster Hunter Wilds Ascendance - Hammer

Continuing with its daily weapons videos for Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance, Capcom has revealed what Hammer and Light Bowgun mains can expect with the new Boost Bracer. Check them out below.

For the former, more mobility, whether you’re suddenly rushing towards a Guardian Fulgur Anjanath to bop him on the head or the signature flying spinning bonk. Even while grounded, your standard combo gains a little Greatsword-style front flip for more damage.

As for the Light Bowgun, it’s perfect for those who want to run and gun, emptying the entire magazine into a monster all the way. Perhaps more entertaining is that this action lets you automatically dodge and even offset an attack to rain hail while dropping. Normal firing also takes some cues from the Bow, letting you reposition with each shot.

With how much power the Boost Bracer is introducing, you have to wonder what kinds of threats players will face to balance things out. We’ve already seen Araketa, which attacks in packs, and the new Elder Dragon Gundoraja alongside returning monsters from previous entries like Kushala Daora, Khezu, Lao Shan Lung, and Guardian Rathian.

Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance is out in 2027 for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2. It’s slated to appear during next week’s Capcom Spotlight, so stay tuned for proper gameplay.
