Sony recently added to its PlayStation Studios family with the acquisitions of Returnal developer Housemarque and PC ports specialist Nixxes Software, but it’s very likely that that’s not where they are stopping. A tweet from PlayStation Japan itself spilled the beans on a Bluepoint Games acquisition (which has been rumoured for some time), and though the tweet was promptly removed, there are many who believe that it’s only a matter of time before the acquisition is announced.
And it seems that announcement is being saved for the rumoured summer event that Sony is supposedly planning on holding for PlayStation announcements. At least that’s according to known insider @Shpeshal_Nich on Twitter, who says that the Bluepoint acquisition announcement was originally a “big surprise” that was being saved for the supposed event, before PlayStation Japan inadvertently leaked it themselves. Of course, whether or not this means the acquisition announcement will also be accompanied with a game announcement is the question many will be asking.
Meanwhile,@Shpeshal_Nick has spoken about other things to expect at this PlayStation event as well, including the gameplay debut of God of War: Ragnarok. Read more on that through here.
So it seems Sony Japan Twitter already spoiled this surprise? Because I was just now told the surprise was Bluepoint being acquired https://t.co/rQChxA6O4B
