Death Stranding 2 On the Beach - Prepper Awaiting Porter

As Kojima Productions nears the launch of Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, it’s almost doing so without the signature weird marketing that director Hideo Kojima is known for. Of course, as if on queue, Reddit fans reported the developer starting a pocket tissue campaign in Japan, a known guerrilla marketing technique.

These include a QR code. However, instead of scanning it and simply seeing an advertisement for the game, you get a mysterious video on the developer’s official website. Titled “Prepper Awaiting Porter,” it’s a forty-second clip from inside a Prepper Shelter where…nothing really happens.

It’s somewhat expected, especially after Kojima’s campaign leading to the game’s announcement. However, this may be the start of some teasers leading to the launch trailer, which the director said would go live a week or two before the game. Stay tuned for more updates in the meantime.

Death Stranding 2: On the Beach launches on June 26th for PS5. It went gold earlier this month.
