If this new rumour is to be believed, Sony might be gearing up to make a handful of very significant announcements at this year’s The Game Awards. As per Brazilian site Combo Infinito, who claim to have been contacted by a source close to Sony Brazil, the publisher will be announcing the release dates (or windows, at the very least), for some of their most major upcoming titles at the event, which takes place on December 6.
More specifically, release windows for Death Stranding, Ghost of Tsushima, and Dreams are allegedly going to be announced, accompanied by trailers for each of them. We do know that Hideo Kojima is going to be present at the event, while we can also assume that he might have trailer to show– and after three years of constant teasing, now would be a good time to tell us something more concrete about the game.
Then there’s Ghost of Tsushima, which wasn’t announced too long ago (at least in comparison to Death Stranding), and judging by Sony’s patterns of announcing games and their release dates, December seems like it might be too early for the Sucker Punch title. When it comes to Dreams, though, a release date announcement for that game is long overdue- with its beta definitely coming by the end of this year, maybe that isn’t so far away either.
Recently, Sony talked about all three of these games, confirming that their respective developers are busy polishing them up, and won’t be sharing release dates for them until they’re completely ready to do so. For now, take this rumour with a massive grain of salt, since there’s no way to be sure about how credible it is. Either way, stay tuned to GamingBolt, and we’ll keep you updated on any new developments.
