From God of War director Cory Barlog, to Remedy’s Sam Lake, to Horizon: Zero Dawn developers Guerrilla Games, several figures from the industry have been shown gameplay of Death Stranding, and they’ve all come away very impressed with what they’ve seen (while we wait patiently for the next morsel of information to come our way). Now, we have another name to add to that list.
Ubisoft Massive’s Julian Gerighty, who’s the creative director of the upcoming The Division 2, recently took to Twitter to talk about having received support from fellow developers in the industry over the course of the development of the looter shooter. One such developer was Hideo Kojima, who invited Gerighty and other Massive members to his studio to show them the upcoming Death Stranding. Gerighty, unsurprisingly, was full of praise, calling the game “mind blowing” and saying that it “will be timeless”.
It’s not just game developers who’ve gotten to see the game in action, of course. Film developers Jordan Vogt-Roberts and Joe Penna have also had some time with it, and both have had nothing but good things to say. At this point though, we hear more about the game from those who’ve been allowed to play or see it than we do from the developers themselves- which is a little sad.
Recently, Kojima confirmed that Death Stranding’s development was slightly behind schedule. Read more about that through here.
Over the course of making #TheDivision2 we did many many awesome things and received support from many other developers.
Hugely thankful to @Kojima_Hideo for having welcomed us to his gorgeous studio and shown us his mind blowing game.
Trust me, #DeathStranding will be timeless. pic.twitter.com/cGAZBYVKsL— Julian Gerighty (@jgerighty) March 10, 2019
