Dragon Age The Veilguard

Following details regarding Dragon Age: The Veilguard’s equipment, abilities, and Skills, BioWare has other combat videos that outline the basics. As seen in gameplay thus far, players can dodge and jump while unleashing Light and Heavy attacks. The latter builds up Stagger damage and breaks through enemy armor.

As the gameplay highlights Rook, Davrin, and Lucanis cutting through a fortress infested with Darkspawn, you can see the Warrior’s abilities in action. They can hit enemies with the shield, guard against attacks, kick enemies off ledges, and more.

You need to build up resources to use abilities with regular attacks, but each class has other ways. For example, the Warrior can build Rage by blocking damage. Rogues must rely on parries and dodges to build Momentum, while Mages regenerate Mana over time. Light and Heavy Attacks can also be charged, resulting in attacks like Shield Throw bouncing between multiple enemies.

Of course, you can command your companions to unleash different abilities to deal heavy damage or even enhance Rook’s state. There are also debuffs like knocking down enemies and applying Overwhelmed, increasing Stagger damage received. Deplete an enemy’s Stagger gauge completely, and you can execute a Takedown for an insta-kill.

Dragon Age: The Veilguard is out on October 31st for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC, with even more details coming in September.
