Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth

Earlier this year, before Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth had even released, we knew that development on its sequel was already underway, and sure enough, work on the remake trilogy’s final instalment seems to be continuing to move at a steady pace.

As reported by 4Gamer, speaking recently at a panel at the Korean G-STAR 2024 gaming conference, producer Yoshinori Kitase revealed that work on Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3’s plot had wrapped up, and that the development team was “starting to move”, presumably suggesting that full production has now started.

During the panel, Kitase also reiterated that the game will allow players to “freely fly around the map” using the airship, dubbed the Highwind. Read more on that through here.

Earlier this year, Kitase stated that Square Enix was hoping to wrap up development on the trilogy’s final instalment within three years, suggesting the company was targeting a 2027 release.
