Forspoken Could be Delayed – Rumor

Leaker AccountNGT believes that the delay could be officially announced at the rumored PlayStation event slated for this month.

Forspoken

Square Enix has a pretty packed month in March with Stranger of Paradise Final Fantasy Origin, Triangle Strategy, Chocobo GP and Babylon’s Fall releasing. Each game has received its fair share of promotion and new details. So it’s perhaps somewhat surprising that a major timed console exclusive like Luminous Productions’ Forspoken hasn’t been getting the same treatment, especially when it launches in May.

That may be due to a delay. Leaker AccountNGT on Twitter recently tweeted about “delays for some console exclusives” and how “it should be a great year for PlayStation players” (especially with some PlayStation IPs making their return). This is on top of a new event “definitely” being planned for this month.

However, when replying to this, they said “According to a source, Forspoken is delayed. It could be officially announced at that PlayStation Event (not sure).” While the timing of the announcement is up in the air, it seems that Square Enix could be preparing for the same regardless.

This isn’t too surprising considering the last major gameplay reveal was in December 2021. Despite the scale of the open world and effects looking good, the overall frame rate looked rough. Square Enix would subsequently announce 4K/30 FPS and 1440p/60 FPS modes along with ray tracing support.

As of now, Forspoken is slated to release on May 24th for PC and PS5. Stay tuned for any potential announcements in the coming weeks.
