Fortnite Might Be Crossing Over With Splatoon Soon – Rumour

100 SquidKids, 1 survivor?

Fortnite Season 10

Currently in its tenth seasonFornite is still going strong, and one of the things that has helped the game keep players coming back is its crossover events with various properties. The battle royale shooter is currently in the middle of a crossover with Borderlandsbut soon, it might be gearing up for something a little more unique.

Prominent Fortnite leaker Hypex has been doing some digging in the game’s files, and he seems to have found something very interesting- files in the game that mention “SquidKid”, which would suggest that some sort of a crossover with Nintendo’s wacky shooter series Splatoon might be in the pipeline. There’s a Splatoon skin and a new Black Bling in the game’s files as well, apparently.

If this does indeed end up happening, it will be interesting on multiple levels. For starters, Splatoon is a Nintendo-exclusive property, so it would be interesting to see if this hypothetical crossover content appears in Fortnite on all systems, or if it’ll just be a Switch thing.

On top of that, it’s not like Splatoon has any major content coming up any time soon, which makes this possible crossover a little curious. All previous Fortnite crossovers – from John Wick and Stranger Things to Avengers and even the currently ongoing Borderlands – came right before major releases for the properties in question.

Before (and if) we get to Splatoon though, it seems there’s another crossover coming up for Fortnite soon. The game has been teasing an appearance from a certain gutter-dwelling, balloon-loving clown, and what do you know- It: Chapter 2 is almost upon us.
