Between showcasing its impressive Prologue and even outlining all the Achievements, Forza Horizon 6’s multiplayer suite has now been officially revealed. Dubbed “Horizon Play,” it features six main categories for online play, starting with the usual Horizon Racing and Horizon Drift.
The former focuses on racing through various terrain types across a myriad of events, including cross-country and dirt. Horizon Drift, as you might expect, is all about drifting, and the one who racks up the highest score is the victor. The battle royale-inspired Eliminator and Hide and Seek, where five players must find a single racer who’s hiding, also return.
However, there are two new additions. Spec Racing, where everyone is in the same car in road and dirt races, thus ensuring that skill dictates the winner. Meanwhile, Touge Showdown is a 1v1 mode where you’ll compete in races across winding mountain paths. Of course, further down, obscured from view, are options for Custom races.
It’s a pretty diverse range of options overall, at least on the surface, though it remains to be seen how Playground Games will expand on it over time. Forza Horizon 6 launches on May 19th for Xbox Series X/S and PC alongside Game Pass, while PS5 players can get their hands on it later this year.
