Grand Theft Auto 5 - Xbox Series X-S, PS5

Rockstar Games’ Grand Theft Auto 6 is on track to launch in Fall 2025, but Grand Theft Auto 5 is still making a killing. Alongside its Q2 fiscal year 2025 earnings, Take-Two Interactive confirmed that the latter had sold over 205 million copies, up from the 200 million announced earlier this year. This makes it the second best-selling title of all time, behind Minecraft.

The figure is all the more impressive since Grand Theft Auto 5 first launched in September 2013 for Xbox 360 and PS3. It’s been ported over to multiple generations of platforms, with PS5 and Xbox Series X/S being the latest. Much of this success is due to Grand Theft Auto Online, the dedicated online mode which still receives updates and posts exceptional revenue for Take-Two.

As for Grand Theft Auto 6, it’s coming to PS5 and Xbox Series X/S next year. The PC version will receive more announcements in “due time,” indicating a release sometime after (as is tradition for Rockstar).
