Despite slow updates in its first year, 343 Industries’ Halo Infinite has been making strides. The December Update added the long-awaited Forge Mode, a custom games browser, and a free battle pass on top of other improvements. However, there’s still a demand for a PvE-focused mode like Firefight that fans can sink hours into.

Forge lead designer Michael Schorr responded to a request for the same on Twitter, simply stating, “On it!” However, before you get your hopes up, this doesn’t mean Firefight for Infinite is confirmed. Schorr says the company is “already on record as working on the best way to bring campaign AI into Forge.”

Such a feature would allow players to create custom PvE modes and levels. However, it’s not outside the realm of possibility for 343 Industries to add a template for Firefight to Forge and some levels that players could customize. Time will ultimately tell.

Halo Infinite is available for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. Its 2023 content, which includes Season 3: Echoes Within, is still on track. However, there’s been no official confirmation of Certain Affinity’s “something big and new for the franchise,” rumored to be a battle royale-style mode for Infinite.
