Arrowhead Game Studios’ biggest content update for Helldivers 2 is now live on PS5 and PC with Escalation of Freedom. It adds a new difficulty, Super-Helldive, which also features exclusive Strongholds and Fortresses to conquer. Though challenging, they also have confidential data to extract, providing exceptional rewards for the trouble.
New mission objectives will appear across all difficulties like extracting Terminid larva samples and destroying Automaton Bio-Processors. However, players must also deal with new enemies like The Impaler, a Rocket Tank, the Reinforced Scout Strider, Spore Charger, and more. Things also take a spooky turn on the new Swamp planet variant, with its fog and atmosphere.
Escalation of Freedom’s arrival coincides with a new Warbond, Freedom’s Flame, which adds two new primary weapons and a new secondary dealing fire damage. Players can also equip new armor sets and take advantage of a passive that heavily reduces fire damage. Head here for more details on the Warbond.
