Overwatch’s Next Short Debuts on August 22nd at Gamescom

The next big animated short arrives at Blizzard's Gamescom 2018 presentation.

Overwatch Wrecking Ball

Gamescom and BlizzCon have been two bastions that Blizzard Entertainment has often chosen for Overwatch’s animated shorts. This year, that tradition continues, as a new animated short will debut on August 22nd at 3 AM PT.

Unfortunately, like last year, no hints have been provided as to what the short could contain or whom it centres on. New content for Overwatch is usually teased at Gamescom as well, so perhaps we’ll get a new map that hits the Public Test Realm in the coming weeks. One would hope that it’s a new Control map, since the last one was Oasis in January 2017.

Blizzard has other plans for Gamescom 2018 though. Its full schedule indicates that World of Warcraft, StarCraft, Diablo, and Heroes of the Storm will also receive new information. We already know that new Diablo projects are in development, but what could the actual presentation contain? What can fans of other games look forward to? Gamescom will take place from August 21st till August 25th, so stay tuned for more information.
