Prey Mooncrash

It’s almost a shame that Prey: Mooncrash, DLC for Arkane Studios’ immersive first-person sim from 2017, didn’t get that much attention. Nevertheless, the developer has been adding free updates, with the latest Rogue Moon update actually paying homage to a number of indie roguelikes. Check out the trailer below.

The free update essentially adds six new skins for the Operator companions found throughout the game. These are based on titles like Spelunky, Rogue Legacy, Darkest Dungeon, Risk of Rain, Don’t Starve, and the recent Dead Cells. Considering that Mooncrash is a roguelike itself, it’s pretty cool to see Arkane acknowledging some of the greats.

If you haven’t played Prey: Mooncrash, it’s currently available for $19.99 on PC, Xbox One, and PS4. The base Prey game is required to play it, of course, but the overall experience is completely separate from the main story. It focuses on escaping the Moon and avoiding the hazardous Typhon present on it. Numerous characters are available to unlock and depending on the progress made with one character, the others will have to try different things to escape.
