GhostWire: Tokyo
As noted before, sound is very important when setting the mood in a horror game. Tango Gameworks’ GhostWire: Tokyo doesn’t dive completely into horror but its eerie story Tokyo’s population disappearing and hostile spirits called the Visitors wreaking havoc does make for some freaky gameplay. To capture that atmosphere, the development team is relying on the PS5’s 3D audio. Speaking to IGN, game director Kenji Kimura said that, “To feel like you’re actually there, to feel the objects and beings that are actually there, sound is extremely important. You’ll be able to feel like you are there and ‘feel’ the things that are there with 3D audio.”
