RAGE 2

Bethesda has released some new-ish pre-beta gameplay footage for RAGE 2. Though it’s pretty much the same as the range of gameplay footage that publications showcased last month, the first few minutes are fairly new. It details how the player gets new abilities – by raiding the arks that have fallen to the planet’s surface.

The Slam ability is the highlight here, delivering a powerful leap and shock wave to enemies. The higher you are, the more powerful the Slam will be. Of course, if you want a decent primer on how gunfights will play out in RAGE 2, from abilities and movement to gunplay, then it’s worth watching the whole thing.

RAGE 2 is out on May 14th for Xbox One, PS4, and PC. It’s developed jointly by id Software and Avalanche Studios, utilizing the latter’s Apex Engine for large detailed worlds and seamless progression. While it’s not currently planned for Nintendo Switch, id Software is “investigating” a possible version for the hybrid platform.
