Resident Evil Revelations 2’s episodic structure makes it a little tricky to rank in a list such as this one- but by that same token, its episodic structure also sort of plays against it. With multiple locations taking centerstage throughout the course of the full game, Revelations 2 isn’t able to spend enough time on any single one to flesh them out in any significant way. Regardless, if there’s one thing the game deserves props for in this area, it’s how atmospheric it feels almost on a constant basis, and thanks to excellent aesthetics, art design, lighting, and more, it does at least make all of its locations feel suitably foreboding.
