Resident Evil 4 took the stage at Capcom’s recent Spotlight showcase, and with its imminent release a couple of weeks from now, premiered another new showing. Capcom confirmed last month that the highly anticipated survival horror remake would receive a “special” demo prior to release, and it’s now been revealed exactly what it will entail.

Dubbed the “Chainsaw Demo”, it’s available to play now on all platforms, as Capcom itself let slip just hours before the official announcement. it will allow players to dive into the game’s opening section- more specifically, the infamous and intense fight in the opening section of the village. History sure does repeat itself.

Interestingly enough, Capcom has also confirmed that the demo will place no time limit on players, unlike demos released for previous Resident Evil titles in recent years, which means players can play it as much and as many times as they want leading up to the game’s release.

Meanwhile, Capcom has also released three short new trailers for the game to build up the hype as it approaches its release. Check them out below.

Resident Evil 4 launches on March 24 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, and PC. Capcom will also release fan-favourite mode The Mercenaries as free post-launch DLC, while a VR mode is also in the works.
