Housemarque’s Returnal released this past Friday and as numerous reviews – including our own – have stated, it’s pretty darn good. However, there’s one expected feature that seems to be missing – the ability to save in the middle of a run and resume whenever you feel like it. Currently, whenever you exit the game, it always starts a new run.

It’s possible to place the PS5 in Rest Mode and then resume one’s run but it’s not the most convenient way to go about things. Tweeting about a Reddit post asking for save options, Housemarque stated that, “We hear the community and we love you all. Nothing to announce now, but keep playing and enjoying the challenge as you can!”

Returnal is exclusive to the PlayStation 5 and focuses on ASTRA scout Selene as she crash-lands on Atropos while investigating a broadcast called “White Shadow.” Traversing its various biomes, she encounters hostile wild-life and learns more about the Sentients that inhabited the planet. Upon dying, however, Selene returns back to her ship and must begin anew with the planet changing in both subtle and major ways each time.
