After debuting to rave reviews, Fuse Games’ Star Wars: Galactic Racer is now available for PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PS5. A new launch trailer is available, and while it may seem like the theme is “escalation,” it actually focuses on the one thing everyone wanted since the game’s announcement: Podracing.
Of course, it means protagonist Shade inevitably encounters Sebulba from Star Wars Episode 1: The Phantom Menace. Despite his scummy past, he’s more of a cautionary figure now, telling the former that he won’t let him near Kestar Bool, the big bad, in a podracer without “a lot of practice.” Sure, Sebulba is using him to get his podracer back, but it’s the thought that counts.
The trailer is also a highlight reel of planets players will traverse, including Crait with its vulptices and red mist generated by speeding across the ground. You’ll have to compete through a roguelite campaign to see them all, but with the many ways to experiment with Shade’s build and customize vehicles, it’s well worth the hassle.
