Though 2022 was a lean year for first party Xbox titles, it looks like Microsoft has a number of major releases lined up for this year. Hi-Fi Rush launched last month, while Minecraft Legends and Redfall will follow in the coming months, with Forza Motorsport also set to release sometime this year. Of course, probably the biggest first party Xbox title planned for this year is Starfield– but when exactly will it launch?
Microsoft and Bethesda have said that the sci-fi RPG will release in the first half of the year, and it seems the current plan is to release it at the back end of that window. That’s as per journalist Jez Corden, who said in a recent episode of the Xbox Two podcast that based on what he’s heard, Starfield is set to launch in June.
“I’m of the opinion that Starfield is going to drop in June,” Corden said. “I think Starfield’s gonna drop in June. Even though I’ve got a bet that it gets delayed beyond June, the latest information I’ve got suggests June to me.”
A recent leak suggested that Starfield had been delayed out of the first half of the year but would still launch in the summer, so it remains to be seen what it’s final launch date will end up being.
Microsoft has confirmed that a standalone Starfield showcase is currently in the works, while Bethesda recently said that the game’s release date would be announced soon. Stay tuned in the coming days and weeks for more updates.
