A new rumour claims Bethesda's sci-fi RPG has been delayed out of the first half of 2023, but is still targeting a Summer release.
The release date for Arkane's open world first person shooter is expected to be announced at Xbox and Bethesda Developer_Direct later this month.
"Our goal has been to be as transparent as possible on what dev teams/games to expect to see in the show," says Xbox's Aaron Greenberg.
The official German Xbox blog states that release dates for the three upcoming first party titles will be announced at the showcase later this month.
Microsoft will show off Redfall, Forza Motorsport, and more later this month, while Starfield get its own dedicated showcase at a later date.
Expect to hear more about Redfall, Forza Motorsport, Minecraft Legends, The Elder Scrolls Online, and more.
The upcoming open world shooter is unlike anything Arkane has done in the past, but the studio isn't quite done with immersive sims yet.
Weapons have random perks, so you may find a shotgun that either sets enemies on fire or fires with a UV flash to petrify vampires.
Characters will interact with each other dynamically based on squad composition, and will developer deeper bonds as they spend more time together.
"The pool that Game Pass offers is huge for us. It's kind of shocking, and scary in a way," says Arkane's studio director Harvey Smith.
"We got insight from some of our sister studios; the people who worked on DOOM came over and gave us feedback a couple of times," says creative director Ricardo Bare.
Playtesters have allegedly been impressed with Bethesda's upcoming RPG, which is apparently "bigger and more ambitious" than expected.
