The Polish studio is at work on a remake of Silent Hill 2, though that might not be the end of it where its partnership with Konami is concerned.
"The fact that they chose us was both a great distinction and a massive motivation boost," says the upcoming remake's lead producer Maciej Głomb.
Bloober Team says Ito and Yamaoka – both veterans of the Silent Hill franchise – have been quite involved with the upcoming remake's development.
Bloober Team's head of production Kacper Michalski says it's "a complete world combining two apparently unrelated stories."
"We are aware of the Resident Evil 2 remake's resounding success, and we are aware that the game is considered a benchmark on how to release a game anew after a long break," says Maciej Głomb.
Anything introduced by Bloober Team is first consulted with Konami since it wants the remake "to be as close as it can to the classic Silent Hill 2."
The Polish developer is currently also working on a Silent Hill 2 remake, as well as the upcoming Layers of Fears.

The remake has been in development since 2019, but when it launches is going to be entirely up to Konami, the developer says.
"We approach working on the remake with such great care and respect for the original game," the developer says.
