Crystal Dynamics has confirmed that it has officially taken over ownership of Tomb Raider and Legacy of Kain, while Eidos Montreal has done the same for Deus Ex and Thief.
They form the 12th operating label under the Embracer Group, which now owns Deus Ex, Tomb Raider, Legacy of Kain, and several back-catalog titles.
Though recent reports have claimed that Eidos Montreal is considering going back to Deus Ex, the studio seems to have other things in the pipeline before that.
Giant Bomb's Jeff Grubb says that it's still early but such a conversation had "no possibility to even begin" under Square Enix.
According to a recent leak, the next Tomb Raider game will feature a much more experienced Lara deep into her adventuring career.
Mary DeMarle, who worked on Deus Ex: Mankind Divided and Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy, has joined BioWare.
Instead, the money raised by the sale will be used to strengthen the company's core gaming business segment and realign its focus for its overseas consumers.
"We see a great potential, not only in sequels, but also in remakes, remasters, spinoffs as well as transmedia projects," the company says.
Embracer Group CEO Lars Wingefors says "a number of external approvals", which potentially includes licensers, are needed to close the transaction.

The Embracer Group reveals that the two latest mainline instalments in the Deus Ex franchise have collectively sold over 12 million copes to date.
The two Marvel games lost Square Enix $200 million in a little under two years and were responsible for the sale of western studios to Embracer, according to an analyst.
Studio head David Anfossi says joining the Embracer Group will "take Eidos to the next level and make its talents, the gamers, and you very happy.”

According to games analyst David Gibson, Microsoft spent as much as $5-10 million to bring games like Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy to Xbox Game Pass.
Sales continued to grow following launch, however, and the Japanese publisher expects that to continue going forward.
