The Last of Us Part 2 is a game that millions have been looking forward to for years, but information on its release date remains frustratingly elusive. There were many who figured that a late 2019 release was very much on the cards, but Sony’s announcements that it would be Death Stranding that would indeed be launching later this years poured water on those hopes.
Recently, however, reports emerged that stated that Ashley Johnson, the actor behind Ellie, one of the series’ two main protagonists, had almost let a February release window for the game slip. Johnson, though, has debunked (sort of), those reports, passing off her comments as an intended joke. On her official Instagram page, she responded to a question about a release date, saying that she’s been saying for a long time that the game will be out either on February 31st or October 32nd (via Reddit).
Regardless of these comments, there have been reports of late that have suggested that The Last of Us Part 2 was initially supposed to launch later this year, but after an internal delay, its release window is now set for early 2020- possibly February. Read more about that through here.
