It looks like Death Stranding isn’t the only upcoming PS4 exclusive title that’s going to receive a new update this week. New reports are claiming that we’ll be seeing more of The Last of Us Part 2 as well- cause for excitement no matter what, but even more so because it’s allegedly going to be more than just a new trailer.

Both Gamereactor and Legion De Jugadores are claiming to have been told by sources very close to Sony that a new The Last of Us Part 2 trailer will be released this week, and the trailer will also bring with it an announcement for the game’s release date- which, both outlets are also reporting, is going to be as soon as later this year itself.

Though it’s best not to take this as gospel just yet, both outlets do claim the sources are very close to Sony, while this would also fall in line with all the updates we’ve seen from Naughty Dog on the game so far. Performance capture was wrapped up last month, while just a few days back, Naughty Dog was looking to hire people to help them “close out development” on the title.

Meanwhile, several rumours have pegged the game to be out in late 2019, not to mention another rumour quite recently that stated that we’d be seeing an update for the game before E3 rolled around.

In either case, we’ll keep you updated, so stay tuned.
