Sony on Vacation

It’s hilarious how one of the bigger highlights of Gamescom was the fact that one of the major players in the industry was absent. Guerrilla Games put in a token appearance with Horizon: Zero Dawn but Sony was most definitely not at Gamescom. This is somewhat disheartening considering the PS4’s line-up for the rest of this year which is replete with smaller games like Volume (which isn’t an exclusive) and Until Dawn along with Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection (essentially a bundle of remasters). Sure, it might have been selfish to expect another E3-level confrontation between Sony and Microsoft but the latter brought its AAA game to Gamescom even with the former’s absence. Nonetheless, Sony will be at Paris Games Week in October for a conference to show off Media Molecule’s Dreams and hopefully has a bunch of solid release dates for The Last Guardian and Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End when the PlayStation Experience rolls around.
