Subsequent entries have gone bigger, louder, and fancier, but Far Cry 3 is still the series at its best. Affectionately called “Skyrim with guns” at the time, it offered so much to explore and uncover with a sleek mix of combat, stealth and downright mayhem. And as insufferable as protagonist Jason Brody could be, it delivered an all-timer of a villain in Vaas.
