Though it’s still in early access, Sons of the Forest builds on everything the original offered, from crafting and base building to the survival mechanics. Its world remains enigmatic, but it’s packed with changing seasons that necessitate storing food over time, shifting ecosystems as one tribe vies for control over the other, and silly fun, like sleighing down the mountainside. While the current story can be completed in a handful of hours, exploring every nook and cranny of the island and understanding its intricacies can take much longer.
