It seemed like a long shot especially given how long it took to develop the first game. However, Team Ninja actually announced Nioh 2. Many things have changed – William Adams isn’t returning, there will be a character creator to customize one’s avatar and Yokai powers are now a thing. While the development team will improve on things it was unhappy with in the first game, the “masocore” difficulty will still very much be present.
