Rockstar Games is known as one of the standard-bearers for the open world genre and Red Dead Redemption 2 is undoubtedly its finest work. Taking place before the first game’s events, it follows the Van der Linde Gang through its highs, lows and eventual downfall. As Arthur Morgan, the player’s journey spans the Wild West, offering characters and events that remain unforgettable. Of course, the sheer attention to detail can’t be overstated, whether it’s in the side missions and activities or random bits like NPCs actually eating their meals and having full-day schedules. For sheer visual fidelity and incredible story-telling, few games can top it even today.
