7. Battlefield 5 (2018)

For all the criticism that the Frostbite Engine has warranted over the years, the graphical fidelity it delivers in Battlefield 5 is undeniable. Environmental destruction is incredible and effects like snow and particles will realistically gather on top of ruined structures (when snow doesn’t dynamically shuffle around one’s feet). Skin shaders and textures look realistic while volumetrics and alpha effects are downright stunning at times. If nothing else, Battlefield 5 proved just how beautiful its brand of warfare can be.
