Laguna Finally Returns to Raine – Final Fantasy 8
Not many people really gelled with Squall and Rinoa but that was okay because we still had Laguna. Playable in various dream sequences, Laguna starts out as a likable albeit headstrong Galbadian soldier. Upon being injured and separated from his comrades, Laguna comes under the care of Raine who nurses him for six months in Winhill. Laguna spends another six months there, bonding with Raine and her daughter Ellone, becoming a monster hunter for the town. Eventually, he proposes to Raine and she accepts but Ellone would later be kidnapped by Sorceress Adel’s troops, with Laguna leaving to rescue her. Raine would wait for him, giving birth to their son and passing away though Ellone would return after being rescued and stay with the child. In the end, Laguna eventually returns to Winhill, reuniting with Raine at her grave. Which also happens to be the same place he proposed to her.
