Make no mistake – it takes some time to get into Xenoblade Chronicles 2 and some of the more egregious tropes don’t help. But eventually, the battle system starts to click and the story develops substantially, tying superbly into the first game. It may not be as universally loved as its predecessor but the tale of Rex and Mythra still has plenty to enjoy.
