NieR: Automata
PlatinumGames’ NieR: Automata is renowned for a number of reasons, whether it’s the addictive combat; the heart-breaking story by Yoko Taro; or the amazing soundtrack. The world itself also plays a big part though, from the ruins of the factory and the peaceful robot village to the sweeping dunes and abandoned cityscape. Various side quests open up overtime, involving you more in the stories of YoRHa soldiers and survivors, ranging from the bizarre to the emotional. Even if it takes a backseat to the main story, the world of NieR: Automata feels alive in its own quietly desolate way.
