The Division Won’t Have Player Trading at Launch

"Some features make it, some features don't."

Tom Clancy's The Division

Tom Clancy’s The Division and Destiny have been compared very closely since details about the former have been unveiled recently, to the point where many believe Ubisoft’s MMO will be the game to finally steal many a Guardian’s attention. However, they’re pretty similar in the negative aspects as well – like the lack of player trading at launch.

Though it seemed like it would happen, creative director Julian Gerighty told GamesRadar that “It’s the reality of production. Some features make it, some features don’t.” It was also about a “priority of different features” but since the game will be ever-involving, it’s likely that trading could arrive later.

“It’s something that obviously some people are very passionate about. It’ll maybe make an appearance in the future.”

Of course the same was said about Destiny but it’s yet to receive the same. Given how The Division seems to emphasize weapon mods along with loot drops, it wouldn’t be remiss to introduce a method where players could trade mods. We’ll find out what Ubisoft does when The Division actually releases on March 8th for PS4, Xbox One and PC.
