Leaked through a Best Buy Canada listing, Housemarque’s Returnal is officially confirmed to release on March 19th 2021 for PS5. A new trailer was showcased that offered a lot more combat gameplay, from different weapons to a boss encounter. Check it out below.

The gameplay is fairly reminiscent of the developer’s arcade shoot ’em ups, albeit from the third person perspective. Protagonist Selene dashes and leaps through environments, utilizing all kinds of energy weapons to tear opponents apart. At one point, she even pulls out what seems to be a sword and we’re all about it.

Hints of the mysterious visions are also seen, which seem to take place from the third place perspective. Time will tell what these actually mean but expect to see quite a few of them as Selene dies, revives and dies again while trying to escape from this hostile alien world. Stay tuned for more details on the roguelite shooter in the coming months.
